The 2022 Far North Queensland Awards have been dominated by culturally inclusive and environmentally delicate tasks for first nations communites.
The Australian Institute of Architects introduced the awards on 3 June, coinciding with finish of Reconciliation Week.
The awards’ highest honour, the Eddie Oribin Award for Constructing of the 12 months went to Western Cape Communities Belief Administration Centre by Clarke and Prince, which is a central facility for 11 Conventional Proprietor teams within the Cape York peninsula.

Gurriny Yealamucka Well being and Wellbeing Centre by POD (Individuals Oriented Design) with Coburn Structure additionally obtained a prime accolade, the Far North Queensland Challenge of the 12 months Award, whereas Mundingalbay Yidinji Eco-Cultural Arrival Services by Philip Follent Architects obtained regional commendations within the Small Challenge Structure and Sustainable Structure classes.
All regional commendations will progress to the Queensland Architeture Awards to be introduced on 24 June.
