This 1½ acre backyard was created inside a former working farmyard and outbuildings of a farm in Somerset. The unique Seventeenth-century farmhouse inbuilt native Somerset stone and a number of the unique stables and farm buildings have been being remodeled right into a six-bedroom household home. Outbuildings have been taken all the way down to create a big space between the home and the prevailing swimming pool, supreme for a walled backyard. Charlotte Rowe Backyard Design was commissioned to design and re-landscape the entire website together with the walled backyard, a potager/vegetable backyard, an orchard, a brand new drive, automobile parking areas and the broader panorama.
All the pieces you can need in a centuries outdated farmhouse backyard. I really like that there’s delicate construction and repetition within the plantings (ie. the English lavender) of the backyard beds. It seems wild however purposeful.
