The Metropolis of Port Adelaide Enfield will create a brand new Aboriginal Tradition Centre within the coronary heart of the town.
To be positioned on a riverbank website formally often called Western Area Park Reserve, the centre will create an open area for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal folks that straight connects to the Yerta Bulti Nation of the Port River.
The centre is designed by Ashley Halliday Architects and Wax Design in collaboration with the Metropolis of Port Adelaide Enfield, Port Adelaide Enfield Aboriginal Advisory Panel and the native First Nations group.
The centre will accommodate a variety of actions with indoor and outside efficiency areas, public facilities, places of work, assembly rooms and intensive landscaping.
It’ll even be a culturally protected area to collect, practise, share and file tradition and join with Nation.
In August 2022 at a naming ceremony, the centre was given the identify Yitpi Yartapuultiku, which means “soul of Port Adelaide.”

It will likely be a protected and nurturing group place for therapeutic, connection and reconciliation, for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal folks to study, expertise and be immersed in Aboriginal tradition.”
The challenge acquired the Planning with Nation Award from the South Australian chapter of the Planning Institute of Australia in 2022.
