What is the best "alternative" style home for a tropical climate?

I added the video for reference and for example. Im interested by constructing a house on uncooked forest land in Hawaii.

I'm very interested by "different" model houses. Not cookie-cutter, American model McMansions. I like the individuality of different model houses and particularly when they’re cheaper, visually distinctive, and extra materials environment friendly.

I'm NOT an architectural skilled or scholar. Only a man that desires a cool, enjoyable and unique home.
