After I was a child, our home had a set of pastel pink bathtub fixtures: pink counter tops, pink shell-shaped sinks, pink bathe, pink rest room. If solely it had regarded as romantic and complicated as this rosy WC by Australia-based designer Tamsin Johnson (considered one of our 20 Tastemakers to Watch in 2023). Not like our very ’80s model, this pink bathtub manages to look fully recent and in no way frumpy. Have a look:

Above: The WC is situated in a house Tamsin took on in 2022 in Darling Level, a suburb of Sydney. “This complete stage didn’t exist,” Tamsin says of the sunken eating space. “We excavated and added the 2 archways into the brick.” Now it’s a mixture of cool textures (marble, stone, mirrors) and heat hues.
Above: The vintage French wall sconces with fluted glass have been reclaimed from a a restaurant, Tamsin says; now, they flank the entry to the tub. Above: The tub is enveloped in pink: It’s Venetian plaster with a gloss end for simpler cleansing.
Above: The sink is an 18th-century Italian vainness, tiled across the base to mix seamlessly with the ground.
Above: Inexperienced provides earthy distinction to the in any other case rosy house: The freestanding bathtub is from Water Monopoly.
