The Nice Quilting Comeback continues: Returning once more to chilly climate (and extra covers), we’re admiring these colourful quilts by Thompson Avenue Studio, all comprised of material remnants. Have a look.
Above: We’ve admired Thompson Avenue Studio because the days of our Remodelista Markets. “Kiva Motnyk grew up in a artistic family (her mom was a dancer, her father a painter, and their residence served as a communal dance, portray, and pictures studio) in SoHo,” Justine wrote in a 2016 submit. After working as a textile designer and artistic director for the likes of Isaac Mizrahi and Apiece Aside, she opened Thompson Avenue Studio in 2014.
Kiva’s textiles draw on conventional methods, and “recycled supplies, seasonal pure dye, and vintage materials create a dialogue between historic and new,” based on her website. Like most of her designs, the Bay Quilt in Blue, proven above, is hand-quilted from linen and cotton material remnants; it begins at $350.
